Our Value

Children are active protagonists in their growing processes. Like every human being, every child is the constructor of knowledge, competence, and autonomy. At Tui Art, regardless of gender, ability, age, race and background, every child has an equal opportunity. We strive to provide a safe, secure, responsive and nurturing environment that supports the learning and development of infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The goal of the kaiako/teacher is to create close and trusting relationships between them and their parents and to foster strong emotional development and attachment to the children. Learning through play and fun experiences is the key to a rich and quality education.

Kia ora koutou!

I’m Robbie, working in the preschool room. I was born on the North Shore and have lived my whole life in Browns Bay. After graduating, I became a swimming instructor and later worked as a teacher at a primary school before transitioning to ECE.

I believe in helping create a supportive, well-managed ECE centre where I can strive to become an excellent teacher and build positive relationships with our tamariki, staff and community. I have a passion for learning and development and expect my own knowledge will grow as I learn alongside everyone. I want to be part of a happy ECE centre where each child actually wants to be there. I will have mutual respect and clear, professional boundaries and form a successful partnership with our tamariki, whānau and the community.  I believe every child is unique, and I want to guide our tamariki to be independent thinkers and learners, capable of developing to their full potential.

I look forward to working with everyone at Tui Art!

Kia Ora, Hello, Ni Hao 你好,

My name is Kryllie, and I am from the northeast of China. I came to New Zealand when I was in high school.

I have completed a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education through AUT and have two and a half years of working experience in early childhood education centres. I have always been passionate about children. Each child is unique. I respect their personality, interests and ability to solve problems, and I actively respond to the child’s physical, emotional, social, and personality development and other needs. Also, children are encouraged to be loved, valued, respected and nurtured in a safe, calm and supportive environment to realise their uniqueness.

In my spare time, I enjoy baking, travelling and making candles.

I am very excited to be a part of the Tui Art family and looking forward to the journey we will create together!

Dear Tui ART parents and whānau,

My name is Ms. Florence Chan. I am so excited to join the Tui Art Early Learning Centre team. I was born and raised in Hong Kong. When I graduated from High School, I moved to New Zealand for University study. I graduated from the University of Auckland. I can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

I love being an ECE teacher because young children are so adorable. It is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their lives and myself.

I like playing the piano, reading, and playing badminton in my spare time. I also enjoy relaxing at the beach and gazing at the sea.

I am so excited to meet and get to know you and your child better.

My name is Emilia Demerdjieva, and I have worked as an Early Childhood Teacher for more than 15 years. I greatly appreciate the opportunity, and consider it a privilege to work with you and your children.

My family and I came from Bulgaria to New Zealand in 2001, and since then we have been living on the beautiful North Shore. We love travelling and we enjoy every opportunity to explore different places in New Zealand.

I have worked as a Primary Teacher in my country for 10 years.  My entire working experience has been involved with children.

As a teacher I believe in creating a secure and safe environment, where all children are entitled to respect and are accepted for who they are.

Dole

Teacher

Hello everyone,

My name is Dole Ledesma, and I have been part of the ECE sector since 2016. Most of my teaching experience has been based in Auckland, working in a range of settings including daycare centres and community-based early learning centres.
I genuinely enjoy teaching and love my work because it gives me the opportunity to learn, play, and grow alongside children of different age groups. What matters most to me as a teacher is being able to care for, support, and truly get to know each child.
I believe that every child is unique, and that their strengths and potential are discovered through strong, positive, and respectful relationships. Children deserve authentic care, support, and encouragement from their teachers. I strongly value and support Te Whāriki’s holistic approach to children’s learning and development.
I am really looking forward to meeting you all—my new Tui Art whānau and community—and I am excited to get to know each of your wonderful tamariki.

I look forward to building relationships with you and your loved little ones and spending quality time with them at the centre.
